Install using Yum repositories on RHEL, CentOS, and Oracle Linux.
The latest version of Apache Cassandra™ 3.x is 3.11.5.
Use these steps to install Apache Cassandra™ using Yum repositories on RHEL, CentOS, and Oracle Linux.
- Select version 6.7 and click on Download, and ddac-5.1.16.zip will be downloaded. Step 3: Installation. Create a folder in D: drive as Cassandra and paste ddac-5.1.16.zip into it. Unzip it ddac-5.1.16. Step 4: Start Cassandra Database. Open windows command prompt, go to the bin folder inside ddac-5.1.16 and execute the cassandra.bat file and then Cassandra database will be started.
- May 25, 2019 Step 6: Install Cassandra as a Windows service. Open the Command prompt as administrator and navigate to Cassandra-bin folder and execute the following command: cassandra.bat -install. This makes Cassandra service automatically starts on Windows 10/8/7 or Windows servers.
- May 26, 2021 Press install button. Step 6) After pressing 'install' button, following page will be displayed. Datastax community edition is being installed. After installation is completed, click on next button. When setup is installed successfully, press the 'Finish' button. Go to windows start programs, search Cassandra CQL Shell and run the Cassandra Shell.
- To install Cassandra on Windows. Log into www.nomagic.com with your Login Name and Password. Select Teamwork Cloud from the Download list. Select the version you want to download and click. Click cassandra3112installerwin64 to download it. Right click on the downloaded Cassandra installer and Run as administrator.
Note: To install on SUSE, use the Cassandra binary tarball distribution.
- Yum Package Management application installed.
- Root or sudo access to the install machine.
- DataStax recommends using the latest version of either OpenJDK 8 or Oracle Java Platform, Standard Edition 8 (JDK).
- Python 2.7 if using cqlsh.
The packaged releases create a
cassandra
user. When starting Cassandra as a service, the service runs as this user.Procedure
- Check which version of Java is installed by running the following command:DataStax recommends using the latest version of Java 8 on all nodes. See Installing the JDK and Python 2.7.
- Add the Apache Cassandra repository to the /etc/yum.repos.d/cassandra.repo:
- Install the packages:Note:Apache Cassandra only provides the latest patch version. If you need to install an earlier patch version, contact DataStax Support.Cassandra is ready for configuration.
- Optional: To change the location of the default directories (/var/lib/cassandra), see the following in /etc/cassandra/conf/cassandra.yaml:
- Optional: To change the location of the log files (/var/log/cassandra), replace the path to the log directory in /usr/sbin/cassandra:
